I usually prefer to spend my money on computer software than on flowers, but when I saw this beautiful delphinium named BlackKnight I knew I had to have it to go with the other purple and orange flowers in our front garden.
What better flower to guard a man’s castle from marauding deer while sleeping?
Breathtaking!
OK, so how’d you display the flower in color and the rest in black and white?
Once you mask out the part you want to retain it’s color it’s relatively easy, Harry. The hard part is creating an accurate mask of the flower.
Once I did that I made a separate layer for the flower and applied a black mask to the original. set the layer to “color” blend and, there you go.
There are lots of ways of doing it, though, but you have to learn how to create masks before you can use most of them.
That’s exactly the answer I was seeking.
