It poured most of Saturday night, so we had little faith in the weather report that called for sunshine Sunday, but we woke to a bedroom bathed in light at 7:00. Needless to say, we rushed to get out of the house and spend the morning at Theler Wetlands in Belfair.
We were greeted by the glow of skunk cabbage emerging in the forested wetlands, greens and golds glowing brighter than the sun itself,
trees with golden buds, flashing white flowers,
and Golden-Crowned sparrows feasting on emerging leaves and golden buds.
A day infused with sunshine.
The Skunk Cabbage looks otherworldly.
