A Classic “Do as I Say, Not as I Do ?!?”

Here’s a classic reply from a recent BBC article on the Bush Administration’s charges that Iran is trying to interfere in Iraq:

“It is very interesting that Americans have occupied Iraq and are now accusing its neighbour of interfering in that country,” Mr Kharrazi told a news conference after talks in Tehran with visiting French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin.

Do you think the administration is rushing to cover its ass after ignoring earlier warnings that any invasion of Iraq was likely to lead to a rush toward an Islamic theocracy?

After all, one of the reasons Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations, with American backing, originally supported Sadam Hussein was because he stood between them and Iranian Fundamentalism.

  1. It takes an almost infinite amount of chutzpah to invade a country (the ultimate interference) and then complain about some other country interfering in that same country 🙂
