Loren’s Been Thrown into a Dungeon and Forgotten

I made the mistake Saturday of buying Dungeon Siege, a Microsoft game as it turns out, though Microsoft Studios is just one of several names on it, including MacSoft, Gas Powered Games, and Miles.

The game is apparently a cross between Myth and Baldur’s Gate, taking the best from both games. My favorite part of the game is the way you gain skills by actually applying them. In other words, you don’t choose at the beginning of the game if you want to be a fighter, a mage, or a priest. Rather, you become one of these through practice.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, the game is proving to be absolutely riveting. I’ve had a hard time pulling myself away from the game to sleep or to shop for groceries.

If you don’t hear from me for awhile, it’s just because I’m stuck in a dungeon somewhere and can’t get out.
