I used to teach two different set of novels and short stories that took opposite viewpoints on this subject, and it was surprising to read what different students would have to say on the topic, tarakuanyin.

Translation fascinates me. That “The Holy Spirit” becomes “Cool Breeze” in Chinese.

I wonder if Anne Frank was expressing a viewpoint similar to a Taoist Christian viewpoint when she said, “Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.”
