In a Dark Time … The Eye Begins to See

It was a thrill to get as close as I did to this Great Egret Thursday at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge,

but it was an even greater thrill to get this close to this Rough-Legged Hawk because I’ve never gotten a photograph of one before:
