The Taxman Cometh

No posting today. I’m in no mood for pretty flowers.

In fact, I’m suffering a mild depression from finally completing the income taxes I’ve been putting off, though now I know why I was putting them off.

The good news is that I have enough cash in the bank to pay them, the bad news is that I have to take a lot of money out of savings to do so.

Between my extra hospital bills the last three months, still not entirely resolved, the IRS, and June’s car insurance, times are going to be tighter around here than usual. And, of course, in order to avoid penalties again next year I’m going to have to start prepaying $400 a quarter or more, beginning this month, of course. Luckily this year’s heavy medical bills should mean that we end up paying less taxes next year.

It’s a darn good thing I already ordered the new Photoshop and Illustrator upgrades or I’d not be getting them for awhile :-0.

Anyway, taxes are done and now I can forget about them. At least I can right after I run to the post office and mail the check off.

  1. I hate doing taxes so much that I put off doing mine even though I pretty much knew it would be break even or a small refund. I finally sat down two weeks ago and did mine online. I think it must just be a mental wall we all hit when it comes to giving Caesar his due.
