I first came upon Naomi’s poetry while studying with a group of Palestinian and Israeli students at the European Graduate School in Saas Fee, Switzerland in the summer of 2000…since then, I have been able to use her poetry as a gift to friends who are caught between the worlds that her poetry so beautifully captures…in these troubling times…I have friends from Iraq, Morrocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Israel…and as a Canadian, I am fortunate to find a poet who helps me to understand a little bit better. At times, I wish the rest of the world could have the opportunities for the sharing of her poems and the humanity that they contain in their messages of peace.

I likes naomi shihab Iread many poems for her , and I note that she uses abstract things to show concrete meaning . She , almost in all her poems , uses imagery and sympolism . the poems which I likes are streets , steps , kindness ,hidden , and Arabic coffee . All her poems have message . They have somehow a political shape .
